Effective immediately, MetLife has a new procedure in place for accepting new business paperwork. MetLife will no longer accept hand written paper applications. They now require applications to be typed before submission.

Nothing has changed with MetLife's current submission deadlines and effective dates:

- MetLife allows 1st and 15th of the month effective dates.
- New business submission deadline is 15 days prior to the effective date.

Don't forget, MetLife offers a compliant dental plan that can either replace coverage from the medical carrier or help to coordinate with it and fill in the gaps. If you are required to have the coverage, it makes sense to shop the market to find plans that provide the best access, coverage and price.
