NAHU GA Council Meeting Details - Stephanie and Tracy Tell All!
(Posted on 04/07/16)
Hi Everyone--
I am happy to report that Tracy and I are just back from Washington DC participating in the NAHU GA Principals Council Meeting.
Attached are a summary of our schedule and some of the action items. We discussed SEPs, the timing of Open Enrollment Periods, Employer Reporting Requirements, and MLR. We also got some insight into the priorities of the administration in their last year, and had some good discussions about market stability, transparency, and trends.
One of the biggest takeaways was the warm welcome and real thanks extended by the White House to the broker community. They made it very clear that they understand the real and vital role that agents and brokers play in the marketplace and appreciated our efforts to help guide our clients (their constituents) through the tricks, traps, and nuances of the regulatory landscape. They also appreciated our willingness to come and discuss some of the real world problems created by the legislation and ways to improve the overall health of the market.
I could go on and on about this, but I won't drone on in this email. If you are interested in learning more about our visit and the discussions, please feel free to call me!
Thanks,
Stephanie
